ok so, wierd question

can you make an alternative version where you can coppy paste a pice of your own text that the monkeys have to type?

(+2)

i like that idea.

Skullbutton make this happen

(+1)

Ups, had it running in the background

(+3)

What a way to tell everyone you know what happened in King Lear act I scene I

(+2)

Don't leave this game unattended if you value whatever device you are playing on.

a few hours later

was a ride

It was the best of times, it was the blurst of times.

monke

(+2)

This gives a whole new meaning to an infinite amount of mokeys typing for an infinite amount of time

(+1)

did anyone notice that the building looks like a typewrite

(+2)
I DID IT AFTER 2 AND A HALF HOURS

(+2)

I finally did it after 3 failed attempts less gooo

(+2)

yap.

(+5)

87% done with the game and i just now realized that the percentage is not your chance to get the letters correct going up, but is in fact your progress

(+2)

This is really silly, nice!

(+4)

definitely needs more monkeys.

(+2)

After 2 hours (2 hours and 4 minutes) I've gone through.
What is the music title ?

(+4)

The music's an original piece that just samples Diddy Kong from Donkey Kong Country (this clip specifically). I just added the raw .wav file as a download, too in case you're interested.

(1 edit) (+2)

I was so close to finishing it but then my friend shut down my computer :< I'm at 5 rn

30 now

(+2)

this is way too boring and way too entretaining for some reason

(2 edits) (+2)

Alas, art imitates life 😔

i feel like the game has too little progression, i understand it's very long and that's the point, but it's also a clicker game, so it probably wouldnt be too hard to add a few more levels to some of the upgrades

because i got everything before 6% and then all player interaction was removed from the game

but for it just being a silly conceptual game you did a great job and i got a laugh out of it, but im calling it quits here just before 8%

(+1)

8% is definitely further than I assumed most people would make it! The absurd length was definitely part of the joke, but I'll take this into account for the next project. Thanks!

(+1)

at this time i am almost at 10%

I wish I can take a part time job or something to fund my monkey project, while I wait for my monkey to generate money

the only negative thing i can say about the game is that for some reason, (this is nobody's fault but simply some glitch that happens in most games i play when i'm on mobile) when i click outside of the game box i can no longer interact with the game but it does go on without my interaction.

(+1)

Well....I've complete it today as well, took me maybe an hour or two?

i was expecting a little more fanfare for finishing the game… :(

(+5)

What about making the game wider with more rows of monkeys to be bought, same with the posters and trees updates. and put the entire book or just chapter 2 as an update.

(+2)

That would be cool

(+2)

Love this so far! 0.4328% of the way through and going strong. Great idea!

(+3)

to be honest make another game using monkeys as lumberjacks because the speed of their arms is really fast

(+2)

Hmmm

(+2)

I wonder how many people actually beat the game ...?

(+2)

Well now there is one more :-)

(+7)(-1)

It's technically possible to get every letter on the first try.

(+1)

That depends on how the random number generator works. Generally there's a relatively small number of seeds you can start with, and if there's nothing the game uses rng for besides the numbers the monkeys pick it will always pick the same series of letters from the same seed, so regardless of what seed it picks it won't be able to get all the letters on the first try.

(1 edit) (+1)

theoretically, yes, assuming the character order isn't predetermined. if it is not predetermined, each character has a 1/36 (2.778%) chance of being the correct one. then the next character has a 1/36 chance. and so on. so the odds of getting every single letter on the first try would be 1 in some trillions or something. i don't feel like counting how many letters spaces and symbols are in act 1 scene 1 of king lear. if it is predetermined, i have no freaking clue what the odds would be.

the fact still stands that the guy who asked probably still has no clue cuz of how confusing this was

The more you upgrade, the more satisfiying it becomes!

Great, fun and original for an idle game!

(+3)

new idea

Hm. Feel like I may have missed a point somewhere along the line.

(+1)

This is perfect.

(+2)

(+5)

That's a remarkably thorough writeup for a game where you buy motivational posters for monkeys.  (No one ever talks about the infinite zookeepers!)

I can think of things you could add to the game.  For instance, I went away to take out the garbage, and when I came back, I had missed several words!  So perhaps a button where you can review the script as they have it so far.  Or: I wonder what would happen if, each time a monkey gets a letter right, they have a slightly better chance of getting that letter the next time it comes around--not an overall improvement, just a stimulus/reward so that now they know what's expected when they see an "A".

But those would be additions.  I can't think of any way to improve this game, because it's a game about monkeys typing Shakespeare letter by letter, which makes it perfect as it is.

(+4)

...The game gets stuck once it hits the square brackets.

(+2)

Fixed! Thanks for the heads-up, I forgot to check for some punctuation. Sorry about the trouble!

(+1)

Thanks! It works now :)
